The organisation is sponsored by the Parent Organisation of the British Theatrical Society. At this annual festival, twelve groups present twelve one-act plays, each over a period of four days at Whitsun. The participants are English speaking amateur theatre groups from all over Europe. They perform under the expert´s eye of a representative from the British Theatre Society. At the end of each evening, critical appraisal and constructive suggestions are given by the festival adjudicator. On the last night of the festival, the adjudicator awards the prizes to the winning groups.
