(Festival of European Anglophone Theatrical Societies)

The Festival of European Anglophone Theatrical Societies (FEATS) is an annual competition between English-speaking amateur theatrical groups based in mainland Europe. The festival spans four days, usually over the Whitsunday weekend, with the venue rotating each year between main cities. Audiences are treated to three one-act plays per evening which are then constructively criticised and evaluated by an invited adjudicator who must be a member of the Guild of Drama Adjudicators (GoDA), the UK-based internationally recognised body for the adjudication of all forms of theatre. On the final evening awards are presented for the: Best Production, Second Best Production, Third Best Production, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Stage Presentation, Best Stage Management, Best Original Script, and a Discretionary Award. A Fringe festival runs parallel providing events during the day.

The Bonn Players, initially under our original name The British Embassy Players, have participated in FEATS many times since 1987, winning numerous awards along the way. These awards are listed below.

On the final evening awards are presented for the: Best Production, Second Best Production, Third Best Production, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Stage Presentation (called ‘Best Set’ until 1990 when it was renamed to include lighting, sound, costumes & makeup as well as set), Best Stage Management, Best Original Script, and a Discretionary Award.
