Emma-Jane Wilcock

I am British and I joined the Bonn Players after moving from Vienna. Since being a little girl I have always enjoyed going to the theatre. I watched “Accidental Death of an Anarchist” performed by the Bonn Players in 2017 and thought how immensely talented the cast were. I was also fascinated by the set and the lighting. It was a whole experience. I would never have thought I would have had the opportunity to perform with this group on stage. I find acting pushes me out of my comfort zone. It is a valuable learning curve and growing process and I feel it has enriched my life.

Aside from acting I have delved into an assortment of responsibilities such as poster design, set design, stage management, costume and props. I also had pleasure to help backstage with costumes in FEATS (2018) where I helped the team – we had the pleasure of winning many awards onstage as well as  an award for all the hands behind the scenes.
Furthermore, I helped to clear out the shed, build and paint sets, and donated my own art work. I have taken part in play readings, Shakespeare and film workshops and also started to assist with youth workshops. Whatever task I took, I gave it my best and I appreciate that it is, at the end of the day, everyones´ hands that make these performances possible.

Relationships flourish in the activity of theatre and I see the Bonn Players as a family, as a community, its team work and collaborative spirit bringing everyone together to shine as a part of the whole team.

Without a motivational and supportive team it would not work and this is why I am grateful to be once again on the committee.
