Tracy Tollmann

Committee Chair

I am Tracy Tollmann, originally British and now also German since 2019 thanks to Brexit. I moved to Germany in 1988 and stayed as I love it so much here.

I started acting at seven as Cinderella and never looked back, studying dance, choreography and theatre arts at school.  I toured France in 1978 with the National Youth Theatre and, following a 15-year hiatus (life, rowing, marriage, kids and career can get in the way), briefly returned to the stage with The Bonn Opera and Pantomime Association in 1996. In 2013, after giving the monologue ‘My Angry Vagina‘ in the The Vagina Monologues, I was invited to join The Bonn Players – and I never left! I have since been in five plays, as well as helping backstage, with make-up, and feasibility readings.

I am also an active member of The Bonn University Shakespeare Company (BUSC) where I have appeared in several plays and numerous BUSCivals. I have also directed several short plays for The Bonn Theatre Night and FEATS Fringe in Frankfurt, Antwerp, and Munich to much acclaim. I run regular voice workshops for BUSC and enjoy helping with pronunciation and diction for Shakespeare plays. I also debuted with a spin-off theatre company Moving Targets in 2020, where I played the Nanny in The Medea Fragments. I place great value in fostering increased synergy amongst the Bonn-based, English-language theatre groups.

I joined The Bonn Players committee in 2019 as Vice-Chair, taking the role of publicity, social media, marketing and compiling the monthly Newsletter. I am deeply honoured to have been elected Chair in 2020 and am committed to continuing to provide the Bonn area with superb English-language community theatre.
